Facilities Technician

  Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn individual to join our team as a Facilities Technician. This role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge in facilities maintenance and a strong willingness to receive specialized training in greenhouse systems, growth chamber maintenance, and refrigeration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of greenhouse systems and growth chambers.
• Work closely with the Building Coordinator to address general building maintenance needs.
• Participate in training programs to develop expertise in controlled environment systems and refrigeration.
• Support lab staff by responding to service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols. 

  Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related fields (preferred but not required).
• Basic understanding of electrical systems or willingness to learn through training.
• Interest in developing expertise in greenhouse systems, growth chamber maintenance, and refrigeration.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

• Willingness to pursue Electrician and/or Refrigeration licenses with employer support.
• Familiarity with growth chamber equipment is a plus but not required.
• Technical aptitude and a proactive approach to learning new systems.
