The Inventory Specialist for our Maintenance Department will oversee and direct tools for the department. Maintain inventory for the department, actively involved in the safety, quality, and preventative maintenance program. 


What you will be doing -  

  • Min/max levels - analyze order point’s and order quantities on an ongoing basis to minimize on-hand inventory, minimize shutdowns, and minimize premium freight charges.
  • Work with purchasing, engineering, maintenance and production to promote constant improvement and cost reduction principals. 
  • Suggest ideas for improved workflow to increase production.
  • Maintain and create SOP’s for the tool ordering. 
  • Ensure 5S and organization protocols are strictly adhered to. 
  • Manage and control inventory for maintenance department- purchasing, receiving & cycle counts.
  • Actively involved in the support of Safety, Quality and Preventive Maintenance programs. (Maintain work order schedules and planning) 
  • Issue & track usage of parts to customer employees as needed.
  • Reports damaged, worn out, or missing equipment. 
  • Disposing of surplus or obsolete equipment or materials. 
  • Ensures measuring devices are periodically calibrated and PPE is regularly tested and inspected. 
  • Create auto generated reports and that help determine purchasing needs.
  • Examine critical item stock levels daily and expedite overdue purchase orders.
  • Prepare measurement information relative to stockroom component pricing, inventory levels, inventory turnover and other metrics that may be required. 
  • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using measurement tools and reports damage or wear to supervision
Requirements
  • Computer experience is a must. This role requires strong CMMS skills and advanced use of MS EXCEL.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization to achieve department goals.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals;
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form;
  • Knowledge of and ability to comprehend and troubleshoot production machinery. 
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings and basic electrical schematics.
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of computer maintenance management systems.
  • Familiar with using Forklift, Manlift, Powertools, and Hand tools.
  • Familiar with safety principals such: Lock-Out Tag-Out, NFPA 70E, Machine Guarding, HAZCOM, etc. 
  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
