Shipping & Receiving - Truck Driver

Edible Garden is a national brand with produce grown locally, specializing in hydroponic herbs & lettuce along with organic potted herbs. We are a dedicated team that works towards supplying quality product from seed to store.
About the Position:
We are looking to add experienced drivers (CDL preferred) to our Shipping & Receiving Department who are confident with local and long-haul deliveries. This full-time hourly role is based out of our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. Delivery of live herbs and finished product will be transported to customer distribution centers throughout the region.
Responsibilities:
- Follow scheduled route and deliver to customers on or before each receiving deadline.
- Load and unload product when necessary while maintaining product’s quality & appearance.
- Adhere to each retail, DC, supplier locations' receiving procedures.
- Build excellent relationships with receiving managers, key personnel, and potential customers.
- Completing and returning paperwork (signed proof of deliveries, credit memos, receipts, route summaries, etc.)
- Relay customer feedback to Customer Service Representatives and Production team.
- Inspect, protect, and maintain Company assets, product, and vehicles.
- Adhere to Company Vehicle Agreement which outlines our commitment to safe driving practices and maintenance of Company vehicles.
Requirements
- Love to work independently, enjoy driving (safely), and engaging with customers face to face.
- A reliable, early riser! Typically, routes will be night / early morning trips.
- Prior work experience as truck driver.
- Clear speaking and attentive listening skills.
- Flexibility in schedule & willingness to step-in for routes when needed to meet the demands of our customers.
- Confident driving locally and interstate
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Valid DOT Medical Card
