JOB TITLE: Pool Attendant
REPORTS TO: Pool Supervisor/ Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
SUPERVISES: NA
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To properly maintain the outdoor and indoor pool areas and insure that pool areas are clean, safe, and enjoyable.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
- Maintain proper and adequate supplies in the pool area and reports all necessary maintenance for equipment to direct manager.
- Be proactive in handling all safety issues in or around the pool area including the Jacuzzi, hideaway, and restroom area.
- Complete daily cleaning duties such as emptying trash, restocking and laundering towels, cleaning pool as appropriate.
- Transport towel bins to and from Laundry room.
- Take guest order for Servers if guest desires service.
- Knowledge of Pool hours and activities.
- Maintain an open line of communication between guest, management, and colleagues.
- Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the pool.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must enjoy working with a team in an outdoor environment with extreme temperatures.
- Physical activities include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Walk or stand for caring lengths of time, sometimes for extended periods of 6+ hours.
- Activities include standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, handling, lifting, carrying, seeing, hearing, talking, walking.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Some knowledge of pool systems.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Previous guest services experience helpful.
- Previous experience with pool systems helpful.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
CPR Certification and / or First Aid training preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
